Set in an impressive early Victorian villa, Ascot House is a family-run hotel which was acquired 2 years ago by Bernard Lien-Lambert, a French expatriate.
It has free off-road parking and is most conveniently situated within a short walking distance of Torquay's Casino, Town Hall, Town Centre and shops, sea front, marina and the Riviera Conference Centre. Reflecting Bernard's Anglo-French cultural background, our rooms are furnished in either a French period style or with traditional Victorian furniture. They have en-suite facilities or private bathrooms (due to the configuration of this sympathetically restored Victorian building, one of our rooms has an adjacent rather than en-suite, exclusive use bathroom). They benefit from many individual touches and come with unlimited use hospitality trays, fridges with fresh milk, hair-dryers, wall-mounted LCD TVs and free WiFi. Children are most welcome at Ascot House (at no extra cost) and a cot, child's bed and high chair are available on request. The Anglo-French theme has also been extended to our extensive breakfast menu which includes individually-prepared fresh fruit plates, continental baked goods and French preserves (Bonne Maman and St Dalfour) - in addition to our cooked-to-order traditional English breakfast using quality local produce - all served in our sunny, spacious dining room! Making your way to the M5 South bound, passing the Bristol exit, you will see the signs for the South West and the A38. Follow these all the way to Torquay. Upon entering Torquay you will see a set of traffic lights by Torre Train Station. Take the right hand lane and follow the road (Avenue Road) down the hill. Cross one set of traffic lights and turn sharp left at the second, into Faklands Road. Cross another set of traffic lights and Falklands Road becomes Lucius Street, which itself becomes Tor Church Road, where we are, on the left hand side of the road, opposite the Seascape Hotel.If you have a GPS system like a Tom Tom or a Garmin, our postcode will take you straight to us (TQ2 5UR).If travelling by train, we will pick you up from Torquay station.
