This is a picturesque route but should avoid the traffic coming into the town: From M5 southbound, continue onto A38, keeping left as you approach Telegraph Hill onto the A380 for Torquay. Exit onto Teignmouth RoadA381, follow signs for Shaldon, cross the picturesque River Teign and continue following signs to Torquay. At mini roundabout continue forward on the A379 signposted Babbacombe Sea Front. Go over two sets of lights, take the second turning on the left into Babbacombe Downs Road. Continue along the Downs for approx 14 mile, keeping the sea on your left and you will find Babbacombe Bay Hotel on your right, half way along the seafront.
