The Elmdene is a small, friendly, family-run, licensed hotel with tastefully decorated en suite rooms in a superb location with views of the open parkland surrounding Torre Abbey. Torquay's main railway station is a 400 m level walk away, as is the main Torre Abbey beach. We have a large, private car park and we are close to all main bus routes. The English Riviera Conference Centre is also just 500m away, and a level 10 minute stroll will bring you to the busy harbour side.
We have a large private car park. The hotel overlooks open parkland and all our rooms are large and tastefully decorated,and have been recently refurbished. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order in our elegant dining room,and We have a licensed bar serving drinks and bar snacks. The front of the hotel is set mainly to lawn making Elmdene an ideal spot to relax, Elmdene hotel operates a no smoking policy.
By Car
- From the M5, take the A380 to Torquay.
- From Newton Abbot, follow the A3022 towards the town centre.
- At Torre railway station the road splits into 2 lanes. Take the right-hand lane signposted to the seafront.
- Follow Avenue Road through one set of traffic lights.
- At the next set of lights, turn right into Walnut Road.
- Drive 100 m down Walnut Road and Elmdene is in front of you.
- Turn right into the car park.
